We set out to stop replacing things. A chair that lasted a season. A table that looked right in a photograph and wrong in a room. We were tired of owning objects that asked nothing of us and gave nothing back.
So we started making the opposite. Slowly, and without much of a plan beyond that.
We believe a piece earns its place slowly — through the years it survives, not the day it arrives. A table should hold the marks of a thousand dinners. A chair should soften, not wear out.
Nothing we make is finished the day it leaves the workshop. It’s finished the day someone stops noticing it’s there.
That’s not a fact we mention lightly. It’s the reason a piece doesn’t leave our hands until we’ve asked, more than once, whether it deserves the tree it came from.
Making something well is not a style choice. It’s what we owe the material.
Not out of carelessness — the opposite. We hope a piece becomes so much a part of your days that it stops being “the STUMPAGE table” and simply becomes the table. The one where the coffee goes. The one your elbow already knows.
That’s the only outcome we’re actually after.
This is not the whole story. It’s only the part we could put into words. The rest is in the pieces themselves — waiting for a room to belong to.
Every piece in the collection was made under the same terms.
